BGRS celebrates World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2021 to reinforce our commitment to employees’ well-being.

World Mental Health Day, created by the World Health Organization (WHO), is celebrated annually on October 10. This day is observed internationally and focuses on educating the public on mental health awareness, policy advocacy, and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.

Each year, the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) creates a theme surrounding mental health and a pressing topic. This year’s theme is “Mental Health in an Unequal World” and highlights the limited and unequal access to mental health services for low- and middle-income countries. Lack of governmental investments is disproportionate to overall health budgets and contributes to the mental health treatment gap. Stigma and discrimination are also a reason why not enough individuals are able to receive care for their mental health. During the World Health Assembly in May 2021, more global governments have recognized the need to increase the access and quality of mental health services at all levels.

At BGRS, we understand the importance of holistic health and wellbeing, especially in regard to mental health. We offer all of our employees a global program that provides support and includes tools, resources, and education to cover the various elements of well-being. Examples include, an employee portal featuring various wellness initiatives and resources, designating March 16th as “Employee Mental Health Awareness Day” around our LIFT campaign or Global Employee Assistance Program which offers confidential employee well-being related support.

BGRS acknowledges World Mental Health Day and seeks to provide each of its employees with a safe workplace to help uphold their mental health and overall well-being.
