March 16, 2021 marks one year of BGRS employees migrating to full-time remote working.
Following the declaration by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, that COVID-19 was officially considered a global pandemic, businesses around the world were forced to adjust their operational delivery to follow government-issued emergency guidelines. Travel bans, quarantines, and social distancing became our new normal.
While the transition at BGRS to working in a virtual environment has been hugely successful, we also recognize that the events of this past year have exacerbated uncertainty, stress, anxiety, and loneliness throughout the globe and within our workplaces. The impacts of a global health crisis increased economic volatility and mass protests over racial injustice – all faced within the same year – have impacted each of us in different ways.
There is much hope and progress today, but we continue to live through tough and turbulent times. With this in mind, and as part of our broader employee wellness program, BGRS has dedicated a day of initiatives specifically focused on our employees’ mental health. This awareness campaign, themed “LIFT”, was designed around these four goals:
L – Learn what mental health resources are available
I – Inspiring discussion around mental health and ways to cope
F – Focusing on and prioritizing mental well-being
T – Thinking positively to build an optimistic outlook
Employees and leaders will have the opportunity to learn more about mental health by participating in activities that are aligned to our regional locations. Providing employees with new skills, insights, and tools will help them manage their mental health during this unparalleled time.
